Last year, the NCUC Research Team won funding from the Mixed Economy Group in order to undertake a research project to better understand the impact of lockdown, COVID-19 and social distancing measures has had, and continues to have on the mental health support offered in CBHE, and how students are accessing said support. The project involved in-depth interviews with staff involved in providing mental health, academic and pastoral support to students at NCUC, and has offered considerable insight into the complexity and challenges of supporting students and their mental health during the COVID-19 practice. The full report will be published presently, and through it we hope to continue to improve our mental health provision, whilst also sharing our good practice with other CBHE institutions.
